Ceramic Cups for Pomurje Gallop will be re-produced by PANNart
.
This year, Matty and I were given the honorable task of producing a trophy for the Pomurje gallop. As every year, we enthusiastically make these specific products for the participants and for the winners of the horse races. The latter will qualify for the final appearance in Budapest this September. Together with the organizers, we decided to come up with Matty Vases in three sizes that are suitable for each listing.

Interested in how cups are made?
.
There are no major graphic changes to the patterns made three years ago on ceramic products - cups, as it is important for the corporate identity to remain recognizable. It preserves the local colors of the Lendava municipality in the painting of the cups. Based on the motifs of the Prekmurje embroidery, I designed a kind of laurel wreath, which is a sign of victory and creative force. Along the blue and green leaves, there are twigs with red flowers that enhance the color composition of the ceramic cups.

I love the embroidery motif of Prekmurje, because it is very simple and at the same time quite colorful. It is universally applicable and offers a wide range of expression. It can be shaped and transformed while maintaining its character. The latter is also present at the Pomurje Gallop Cups.

Ceramic painting
.
Matija first prepares the pottery and after the second firing, when the dishes get their glass glaze with high gloss, it's my turn. I transfer the design to ceramics and start painting. First, I paint all the details in blue. While the blue layer is drying on the first vase, I paint the other vases. Then I apply green, red dots and the product is done! I repeat the process five more times, as they reward competitors in two categories. The Pomurski gallop cups must then be sintered in a ceramic furnace for the painting to blend into the glaze of the products.

The cups are sintered at 760 ºC

Matija is a great master of ceramics, so he takes care of that part. Put painted ceramic products in the oven. At 760 ºC, the dishes are sintered until the oven reaches the maximum set temperature, which takes several hours. Then they cool for two days. When the pots are still in the oven, I prepare this year's graphic material for cups and gingerbread.

Gingerbread making

Traditional gingerbread is traditionally made every year for the Pomurje gallop and is provided by all participating competitors. With the masters of PANNart Handicrafts, they are baked at significantly lower temperatures than ceramics. Gingerbread hearts are preserved in their natural color. With white sugar glaze we paint Prekmurje motifs. Then the honey hearts are given labels and inscriptions. When they are dried, they are protected with foil and a band around the neck is added to each of them.

Az idén is a Matyival megakaptuk a megtisztelő feladatot, hogy elkészíthetjük a Muravidéki Vágta a budapesti Nemzeti Vágta lendvai előfutama versenyzői serlegeit. Mint minden éven egy égalmas időszak, amikor fabrikáljuk ezeket a különleges termékeket a lóversenyek győztesei számára. Az utóbbiak döntőbe kerülnek a szeptemberben megrendezésre kerülő budapesti Nemzeti Vágtán. A szervezőkkel a serlegek elkészítéséhez a KUGLI vázák mellett döntöttünk. Ezeket a helyezéseknek megfelelően három nagyságban készítsünk el.

Kíváncsi vagy, hogy hogyan készülnek a serlegek?
.

A keramia festés
